Aiyekusehin Monisola is a visionary leader, educator, and advocate whose life’s mission is to empower lives, unlock dreams, and rebuild futures. She is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Betharbel Foundation, an organization restoring hope to internally displaced children, women, and youth in Nigeria. With a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Benin and as an alumna of Harvard Business School, Monisola combines academic excellence with deep compassion. As a survivor of domestic violence and a single mother of five, she transformed her personal trials into a platform for healing and impact—proving that resilience can become restoration. Through Betharbel Foundation, Monisola has spearheaded transformative initiatives including a free elementary school serving over 300 displaced children, School Meals Program, Adopt a Teacher, Tech Boot Camp, Karatu Mobile App, Reclaim Learning Hubs, and the global movement Reclaim Her Summit. She also champions sustainability through Betharbel Recycling, which equips displaced youth and women with green skills while funding education. She is also the host of the Empowering Voices Podcast, where she amplifies stories of healing, faith, and advocacy. Her work directly advances the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in education, gender equality, and climate action.
At Betharbel Foundation, we are restoring hope and rebuilding futures for children, women, and youth affected by displacement. Providing Free Education – Over 300 displaced children receive quality, trauma-informed learning at our elementary school. Feeding Futures – Through our School Meals Program, every child gets at least one nutritious meal daily. Empowering Teachers – Our Adopt a Teacher initiative supports and equips educators to keep classrooms thriving. Bridging the Digital Divide – With the Tech Boot Camp and Karatu Mobile App, we connect children and youth to technology and mobile learning. Creating Safe Spaces – Our Reclaim Learning Hubs nurture literacy, creativity, and mentorship beyond classrooms. Championing Women & Girls – Through the Reclaim Her Global Summit, we amplify women’s voices and drive global advocacy. Driving Green Innovation – Our Betharbel Recycling project transforms waste into opportunity, training youth and women in eco-skills while supporting our school.
When I look into the eyes of a displaced child, I see more than loss—I see
dreams waiting to be unlocked.
Betharbel Foundation was born from my own journey of pain, resilience, and faith. As a
survivor and a mother, I know what it means to rebuild from brokenness. That is why my
heartbeat is simple: to empower lives, unlock dreams, and rebuild futures.
Every classroom we open, every meal we serve, every woman we equip, and every voice we
amplify is a step toward restoring hope. Displacement should never define destiny. Together,
we can create a world where children learn with joy, women rise with strength, and
communities thrive again.
