Transit a Child – From Primary to Possibility For many internally displaced children, completing primary school is a major victory. But transitioning to secondary school is often where the journey ends — not because of lack of ability, but because of cost. Transit a Child is a Betharbel Foundation initiative created to ensure that no child’s education stops at primary school simply because they cannot afford the next step. Transitioning to secondary school comes with new demands: entrance fees, uniforms, books, transportation, and ongoing support. For displaced families, these costs are often impossible to meet. Without help, children who have worked so hard are forced to drop out, returning to vulnerability instead of moving forward. Through Transit a Child, we provide: Secondary school enrollment and registration support Uniforms, books, and learning materials Transitional guidance and follow-up Continued encouragement to stay in school This project bridges the gap between survival and opportunity. It protects years of investment in a child’s education and opens the door to long-term transformation. So far, 48 of our pupils have successfully transitioned to secondary school — each one a story of resilience and hope. When you support Transit a Child, you are not just funding school fees. You are carrying a child across a critical bridge — from primary education to a future filled with possibility. One transition. One future changed.
